There were different size miniature bolts and screws. The directions did not call out the differences so I used the wrong ones. But it was a simple fix. If you watch what you are doing and note the different sizes, you may be able to avoid this small problem. The transmitter range is good. I like having inside and outside temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall totals, atmospheric barometric pressure, time and date at my fingertips. The inside display is visual well designed. It is also easily reprogrammed. It uses a touch screen and the process is intuitive. For example, the initial setup showed rainfall totals per hour. But my preference is rainfall totals over a 24 hour period. Touch rain on the controller and a “+” button appears on the screen. This review is from: ProWeatherStation Wireless Data Logging Weather Station (Electronics) Okay, I am a meteorologist, and I finally decided to by a weather station for my home. First, I tried a Lacrosse Technologies weather station for nearly 0- no luck. Oh, wait, I had luck- ALL BAD! The anemometer didn’t work.. Sent it back, 2nd one had the same problem. Decided to go with a higher end brand- Davis brand. This one cost more than 0- guess what? The anemometer did work- sort of- it only measured bout 30% of the actual wind speed. I was about to give up and decided to try this ProWeather Station. Well, it works! I would have given it FIVE stars, but it is not perfect, but well worth the price. Plus, this comes with software, which the Davis unit did not- it was an extra. I have found that after a couple of weeks out in the elements, this station seems to be performing better. We are still too cold for the rain gauge to work, but I hope it does well. What is different about this system is that it has a WIRED anemometer and rain gauge that uses a simple telephone wire/jack to connect these two instruments to the Thermo/hygrometer base- from there the information is sent out in ONE signal. And this is where the Lacrosse unit had issues.. too many wireless devices can cause issues. So, all in all, I would have to recommend this weather station. If the wires are dressed/taped nicely they are hardly noticed. Plus, I suppose if a person wanted to they could use a longer wire to lift the anemometer even higher above the other instruments.
