Benton (Washington, New Jersey USA) – See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Door Jammer / Portable Door Security Device (Office Product) As an airline pilot who flies to foreign countries 99% of the time, I thought that this would be a good device to have. The first time I was somewhat impressed as the product seemed to work as advertised. The next three hotels I stayed at had doors that opened into the hallway which is not uncommon in Europe and this device could not be used on these doors at all. On my last layover I put it on the door and as always, I tried to open the door just to make sure that everything was secure when I heard a "snap"….To my dismay, I looked down and the apparatus had broken…..the part that goes under the door had snapped at the 90 degree turn. To my further dismay, when I looked at the snapped piece this device looks like it is made out of very cheap cast aluminum which is inherently weak and never should have been used for any security device. If my life had depended on the Door Jammer working that night I would have been disappointed. Nonetheless, the time period for returns had expired but I anticipated that "Heredomus" (the company that sold the product on Amazon) would stand up for their product and refund my bucks. They not only did not refund anything, they never had the courtesy to respond to the two emails I wrote to them asking for help. Perhaps I received a defective product….perhaps the Door Jammer is just not very strong (my suspicion) but not receiving a reply from the company that sold it to me was disappointing……Heredomus did not back up their product and that is unfortunate……they lost a customer for life. 0 82 of 87 people found the following review helpful ![]() Almost as good as a linebacker, Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Door Jammer / Portable Door Security Device (Office Product) Excellent security device. Very strong, but somewhat heavy. Stopped a 375 lb maintenance man trying to shoulder slam his way into my room. I guess he didn’t believe in knocking. 0 83 of 89 people found the following review helpful ![]() Great design, By Gman “Gman” (Ft. Lauderdale, FL, US) – See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Door Jammer / Portable Door Security Device (Office Product) I am getting ready to travel overseas and wanted to bring an extra lock for the hotels. I purchased 2 different styles/designs. The first on fits into the notch on the door where the door handle connects to the door frame. It is nice and works in my house but since I am not sure of the design or sizing of the door handles abroad, just to be safe I wanted a 2nd one that did not rely so much on the door handles. This lock feels heavy, sturdy, and well built. This looks like it will fit any door. There is a lip at the bottom of the straight piece with a rough finish on it. You slip that lip under the door. The rough finish grabs on to the bottom of the door. While holding that in place, you turn a screw knob located right above the silver stopper at the bottom of the arm. You keep turning, which tightens the foot onto the floor. Once it is nice and snug, you are done. I tested it at home and it works great. I think the door would have to be busted down before this lock would fail. 0 |
