Beware of "best MWC" sticker – the PC award was given largely based on its 9 tag. If you find out original PC review – this laptop got rather mediocre rating and I cannot agree more. Say – keyboard and body are good and solid. But poor quality screen ruins the whole game – colors are dull and acceptable view angle is limited. Short 4h battery life is worsening impression. That "flip screen" feature looks cool on paper but in this particular implementation is not especially handy – the resulting "sandwich" is too bulk to be comfortable. SO, I checked it out at Bestbuy and the display model was a fake-out, IT was awesome. However, when I took it home I immediately hated it. First of all it feels like if you sneezed too hard it would break, its flimsy feeling, the charcoal grey looks like it was the first pc ever created, and OMG to call it slow is an insult to the word slow. I tried to make myself like it, but it was an epic fail. I took it back after 3 weeks and bought a Toshiba Chromebook 2, it should be delivered in the morning so hopefully its better than this sorry excuse for a piece of technology. It the laptop felt more plush, I’d use it as toilet paper! 03/02/2015 Update: I’ve had my Toshiba Chromebook for about a month now give or take a few days, and I love it! Where do I start, its processor is very fast and it does take some getting used to. Since it is a "chromebook" you have to ditch the Windows-mentality if that makes any sense. Don’t get me wrong, I love windows and if I could put the software on it I would have made the best laptop I personally need. However, there are applications on my Toshiba Chromebook 2 which support creating documents and spreadsheets but like I said it just takes adjusting. I wanted something that was versatile and able to fit the depth of several different screens and indeed it does that; however, the mechanism for holding on to the screen – does NOT! It opens and closes to fit but doesn’t clamp via springs or any sort of tensioning apparatus so any movement of the usb cable will move the camera and has to be repositioned. Now you probably won’t need to do this much unless you’re moving things around you work area a lot, i.e. books, papers other peripherals. If I was King of the world, I’d rig some kind of adjustment that would produce more of a clamp effect. I got this product on the cheap using a coupon and no shipping cost so I can’t complain too loudly. Just so you know….. 0 |
