ok, i’m sure there are other ways to mount this, but this fits my 2002 Mits Eclipse perfectly. Not sure if some of the reviewers were installing this right… Basically, there is a flat side that extends from the cup opening down about 10 inches to the bottom; underneath the cups, there is a curved side that angles down toward the bottom, getting thinner as it goes down. The concept is, that you put the flat side along side your center console (this works great if the console wall is flat or mildly contoured), and the curved angle side rubs against the side of your front seat, near where your seat belt buckle goes. If there’s just enough room to shove your hand down next to your seat (like you’re feeling for coins), then this will fit. Just shove this sucker down in there, and it will stay. I will say that after a passenger gets in and out a few times, it wiggles its way back up; but if you simply make sure it’s secure every time you put a cup in, this will never be a problem. For two extra cupholders and no screwing/glueing, you can’t beat this for ten bucks.. (as of Apr 2012)

This is decent cup holder but be careful with a tall cup if your route has curves ahead; we have some seriously winding roads out here and with a cup as tall as the one in the photo it will sometimes tip right out of the holder and onto the floor. I solved this by jamming a foam “cozy” in there which not only keeps the cup from tipping over but also provides insulation as well.

Cut the wedge potion off and secured it to the top of my center console with a few screws. Exactly what my car needed!
