It seems that the timer quits working or it gets a short inside after a 3 or 4 year period. The product is excellent, but work needs to be done on making them last longer. I realize it runs 24/7, but I have other things that run 24/7 also and they don't die in 3 or 4 years. It is not overloaded, but indeed under the rated capacity. We could switch the lights off and on manually for a couple of months and then the transformer began overheating and would trip itself off (thermal switch still worked!) These units had 5-year warranties but it appears that Intermatic changed it to 1-year recently. So I thought I had plenty of time to locate the receipt but by the time I did the warranty had already expired.
