The Intermatic EI235LA is a decorator electronic auto shutOFF timer in light almond. This model is designed to provide a time range of 13 minutes to 120 minutes of silent operation. This Intermatic timer works with a rectangular decorator wall plate and is intended to fit a standard wall box. In addition, this model is capable of singlepole operation. Electric loads are switched automatically by the timer with totheminute accuracy.

My kids had left the fireplace on all night a couple of times after staying up late watching TV (money down the drain!). The fireplace solenoid is low voltage, so I bought a general purpose “Ice Cube” relay to go with the countdown timer. The countdown timer replaces the light switch and operates the relay, which turnes the fireplace on/off. Easy to do (except for finding a convenient location for the relay). I wanted a countdown timer that would control this heater. The heater pulled 1,500-Watts on high, so I needed one to handle the load, as well as a timer that works with motors seeing as this heater has one for the fan. After much research, I decided on this timer as it met all the needs I thought my wife would need. After installation, it works wonderfully. At the end of whatever time cycle you press, the heater shuts off. I wish the directions for rewiring my heater from 220 to 110v were as easy to understand as the one for this timer are. The instructions were very easy to follow along, they were clear, with diagrams for you to compare. I agree with the other comments about the amount of wire and wire nuts you have to fold into your box. It is a bit tight, but I managed to get it all safely within the mounting box. I love this switch and am very pleased that this is the one I selected. The time sequences are just right. It skips right over the 15 minute countdown. Then the timer stays on for 60 minutes. If I press and hold the button for more than 2 seconds the 15 minute count down starts, however the timer stays on for ever. I think there is a mismatch between then front cover and the electronics inside the unit. The worst part is that I never got around to installing the timer until six months after I bought it, which means that I no longer can return it. 0 |
