This review is from: 39″ Builders Box with fixed glass front 39EB500GRA (Misc.) The fireplace arrived damaged. The hinge for the glass was broken. I opened trouble tickets with the manufacturer. They told me that the hinge was not a replaceable item and closed my ticket. Not wanting to go through the return shipping nightmare I kept opening tickets and then they would close them. After the 3rd try my official statement was, I do not want to keep an item that the manufacturer will not stand behind. I will ship this back over a stupid hinge. Please escalate this. Within 2 days a lady, from within the US, called me and told me that she was shipping a hinge. What a nightmare!!!!! Overall it is a little better than OK. The issue with electric fireplaces is that they do not give off the bright glow that lights a room. If you sat in front of this fireplace and I asked you "Do you like it?" Your response would be "Eh….its Ok, I guess". If I had it all to do over again I would have installed a vented gas insert. I am 100% sure of that. Took 3 orders from amazon to get one that’s not broken. The first one never shipped, second must have been dropped off a ups truck, it had damaged logs, hinge for glass broken, the third one was finally ok but hinges were broken again for the glass. To avoid this I would recommend the "swinging doors" one as one big piece of glass is too much for the small 1/8" hinges. I would recommend it from Amazon, by far cheapest shipped to your door. 0 |
