Very good cheap electric heater., December 6, 2011
This review is from: Patton Milk-House Utility Heater, PUH680-U (Kitchen)
What prompted me to write this review - was my purchase of a duraflame electric heater of similar wattage to the old milkhouse holmes branded unit a friend gave to me. Even though the two units claim similar heat output. The milkhouse heater really kicks out the heat compared with the duraflame - model. The duraflame is much more aesthetically appealing but cannot match the raw heat output of this unit. This unit will put out the most heat for your dollar cost. I have also purchased the plastic holmes units similar to this model and they are still not the same heat output. Just wanted to clarify for amazon customers that if you want heat buy this unit if you want fancy or pretty buy others.

This heater ( or very similar from Patton) seems to have been around for a very long time. My father who is 96 actually did use this heater in the milk-house. Besides the nostalgia factor this heater does a good job for what it is designed to do, which is to put out safe heat. Not the prettiest, or quietest, probably not for your living room, but great for a smaller space, basement or garage. Here in Minneapolis where it is -2 degrees outside as I am writing this review, this little heater will take the edge off.

This is the best small electric heater I have found--and I have used a lot of electric floor heaters. It is easy to use-uncomplicated. It turns off if you tip it over so it is safe. It doesn't overheat and turn itself off like many others. It seems to have a feature that causes it just to not overheat. I have left it on all night with no problems.
