Good, but not perfect, for business cards, July 4, 2010

This review is from: Rolodex 67011 Rolodex Covered Business Card File, 500 2-1/4×4 Cards, 24 A-Z Guides, Black (Office Product)
I purchased this product as a way to organize the business cards I’ve been collecting at a rapid pace from networking events, business contacts, etc. There don’t seem to be any perfect alternatives. Business card books and sleeves tend to hold a very small number of cards, and not the hundreds or thousands that you’ll accumulate in your business life; also, the books don’t allow you to rearrange the cards easily into categories/custom ordering.
I had thought that Rolodex would have a PERFECT solution, since this is their specialty. I have to say that this file is the best solution I’ve seen so far. By purchasing the Rolodex Business Card Tray Refill Sleeves, Holds 2 of 2.625 x 4 Inch Cards, White, 40 per Pack (67691) separately, you can slip each business card you have into its own sleeve, and file it however you’d like in the file. The lid opens and closes smoothly, and the sleeves with the cards are easy to take in and out, or flip through. The file looks clean and neat on my desk.
Despite the pluses, I felt that Rolodex should have created a product with no significant minuses, so I only give this three stars. The biggest oversight: the A-Z divider cards do NOT rise above the business card sleeves, and there’s no way to order ones that do. So I had to improvise and staple together some cards to use as dividers, and it doesn’t look pretty or work perfectly. Also, the A-Z dividers provided are not really what I want for business card filing, even if they were visible above the sleeves. When I’m meeting dozens of business contacts a week, I generally don’t remember the names of everyone, so I’d be unable to find the cards by A-Z last name; I want to be able to create dividers (by writing or printing on blank ones) that contain the names of my networking groups or business categories, and/or dates of meeting.
I also feel that since this Rolodex is billed as a “business card file”, it should come with the business card sleeves instead of the blank white cards. The white cards are too small to be able to paste or staple business cards to them. I guess it’s possible that you could get a Rolodex One-Sheet Business Card 2-Hole Punch for 2.25 x 4 Inches Card Files, Plastic, Black (67699), but I decided against that because on some business cards it would destroy information. Also, the file seems a bit wide and tall for inserting the cards directly. In either case, why include 500 blank white cards that are useless for storing business cards if this is supposed to be a business card file?
Last, I’m a bit miffed that Rolodex does not provide good information on amazon.com or even its own website about which cards/sleeves fit which files, which files are good for storing business cards, etc. In this day and age, that’s a silly oversight.

I use a Rolodex as a back-up, and also for information I wouldn’t want made public if my BlackBerry was lost or stolen. My old Rolodex was over 20 years old and still performing when it was damaged during a move. This looked like a good replacement, but it’s an example of the crap coming out of China. The paper cards are not even half the thickness of the previous ones. In less than a year, they are already wrinkled. The mechanism for opening and closing the lid is also cheaply made. The only improvement over the old model is the alphabet dividers, which are plastic and more durable than the previous paper ones. I paid for the Rolodex name (and inherent quality), but I didn’t get it. If I hadn’t left it in the box for three months before setting it up, I would have returned it.

Despite the digital age I still have one of these things. My computer is not always on so I still have one of these next to the phone and I store all my contacts in them as a hardcopy. The cards are easy to organize and flip through. I also store my passwords on these. I’ve had mine for about 15 years so I can attest to it’s quality. This card file is one of the few non-digital things I use everyday.

Great tool, June 15, 2013

This review is from: SunJoe SWJ800E Electric Pole Chain Saw, 8-Inch, 6.5-Amp (Lawn & Patio)
I replaced my other pole saw with this one. The other one was a little cheaper (at Home Depot) but the price difference wasn't so great as to make it a much better deal. I wish I'd bought this one originally but I'm glad I have it now. Why? Some things I particularly like about it compared to the other one.

1. The adjustable length of the pole. The other one is fixed at 9 feet. There are a couple of reasons adjustability is a very nice feature. First, what others have pointed out - use the shorter length to cut up the limbs you've cut down. It's much easier than standing back nine feet to do it. But, an equally important reason is that it can be adjusted easily while using the saw. I use it mainly for palm trees and oaks. When I'm on the ladder, I don't always need or want the saw at its full length. There's about ten pounds hanging on a 9 foot pole and it gets heavy quickly. And, sometimes I'm closer to what I want to cut. Twist the lock on the pole, collapse it a little, tighten the lock and start cutting again. It's very nice.

2. A major reason I decided to change saws was that the one I have infuriated me with the chain constantly jumping the track. I tightened it and loosened it and tried everything I could to get the tension right. It didn't matter - if the saw twisted a little while cutting the chain popped off. That meant removing the cover, adjusting the chain, replacing the cover and going back to work - five to ten minutes of cursing the whole time. I just finished trimmng several palm trees and an oak with this one and it did not jump once. Tensioning the chain is very simple and done with the cover on - just turn a screw.

3. The oiler on the other one seems to feed oil too fast - the motor always is oily and it runs down the pole. This one doesn't and keeps a light coat of oil on the chain. The other one put too much oil on the chain with the result it jams because the saw dust gets oily and clogs the sprocket - that may be why it jumped the track.

4. It cuts faster - that may be simply because it's a new chain so I can't say it's different in that respect from the other.

5. It feels sturdier. The pole definitely is stronger. There is absolutely no twisting or bending. The other one doesn't really "bend" but it does flex. This one is very stiff.

So - I'm glad I have it and recommend it hightly.

This is a very well-made pole saw. Assembly was very easy. The pole itself is quite beefy and very easy to extend plus the lock is one of the best features as it's easy to lock and unlock and stays adjusted.
I was surprised to see that the cutting guide was made of metal. The oil reservoir has a window so it is easy to see the level of oil. The best part of the saw is that it's the lightest one on the market in this price range So you don't have to be a guerrilla to use it. The motor is more than adequate to get the job done. It comes with a good manual, has a two year warranty, and a single metal tool that is all that is needed to assemble as well to keep the chain property adjusted.
I highly recommend this saw.

Electric Pole Saw!!!!, June 30, 2013

This review is from: SunJoe SWJ800E Electric Pole Chain Saw, 8-Inch, 6.5-Amp (Lawn & Patio)
Having and being able to use something like this for trimming all of my tree's in the yard and getting any low hanging branches out of the way so I can mow without being hit by those low hanging branches is the "CATS MEOW" This saw was a god send,it did everything that I wanted to do with it at this time, and it sure will come in handy when I have to get anymore low hanging branches out of the way for me to mow without being hit by them or being in the way. I chose the "I Love It" rating because I do Love it being able to use something like this SURE BEAT having to climb up a step ladder to do any trimming. With this pole saw fully extended in it's length and with my arm reach I was able to trim up about 15 feet,so it will be awhile before I have to do any trimming very soon, but when it is time to trim again, this is the perfect thing to do it with. It's not that heavy at all to operate, and it sure does what you want it to do for you, make sure you keep oil in the automatic oiler, and you keep your chain sharp, and you won't have any problems with what you want to accomplish with it!!!!!! If you have branches hanging low or just need some more room so that you can mow without any trouble, this is the item for you to have,I believe you will be very happy with it's performance and take care of your problem, because I'm sure happy with what I used it for and what I could do with it!!!! Oh,1 more thing for your safety, make sure you wear safety glasses or a face shield,so you keep the wood chips that it makes as you trim out of your face and especially your eye's,your sight is very valuable to you!!!!!!!
